HMM Coaches Ltd. was set up in the year 1998 with a capital investment of 110 million rupees. The company is established in a vast 14 acre complex. HMM Coaches could visualize the changing trend in the Bus market, and decided to install facilities to manufacture 1200 buses per year on a production line basis. HMM has set up the latest facilities to manufacture state of the art buses of International standards. The company steered past many ups and downs in the industry and today HMM is one of the major suppliers of built up buses to Tata Motors, second only to their own facilities in Goa by the name of ACGL.
The company has upgraded its facilities with time. We have recently installed very high quality machineries such as:-
- CNC Press Break
- CNC Shearing Machine
- Stretch Paneling Machine
- Powder Coating Plant
With all these new additions we have been able to increase our capacity as well as improve the quality of the buses.
HMM is a strong believer that quality plays a pivoting role in the success of a company. We believe that quality should never be compromised in order to achieve short term gains. For all this HMM has installed many quality systems such as KAIZEN. The company has also got the ISO 9001 certification which hardly a couple of bus body manufacturers in India have.
HMM’s next milestone is to fully implement Six Sigma in the company. This will be another step forward towards the achievement of the long term goal of the company which is, being a ‘Global Company’.
HMM as a well established R&D department reporting directly to the MD. That is why we have been able to develop many variants of buses. We have made buses for Tata Motors, Ashok Leylend, Eicher Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra & also for the private market. We made the Tarmac coaches for Ashok Leyland which was supplied to Air India. We also made a CNG low floor bus as well as a Tarmac Coach for Tata Motors, which they displayed in the Auto Expo 2006. We also developed our own model on Mahindra chassis. We made these buses for all the Mahindra dealers in Punjab & Haryana, the model really clicked on well. We developed a 32 seater bus for Mahindra which also got passed from ARAI.
